Why You Will Love This Job

To produce mechanical engineering design packages, providing input and support at all stages of a project from sales through to installation.

Responsibilities

• Translate and develop conceptual designs into detailed designs to meet functional and contractual specifications, including specifications, calculations, and component selection.
• Support the sales stage by ensuring conceptual design and tender preparation documents are provided on time and to quality standards.
• Liaise with Electrical Design Engineers to identify project requirements and develop detailed designs.
• Coordinate and lead CAD draughtsman activities to ensure design packages meet required timescales and quality standards.
• Liaise with Architects and Structural Designers to identify project requirements and develop detailed designs.
• Provide support to the Project Manager during installation, commissioning, and testing phases, ensuring timely production of documentation.
• Conduct site surveys as required.
• Liaise with existing and potential customers and their representatives.
• Participate in and lead HAZOP and risk assessment studies.
• Ensure full adherence to Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality management policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering design software.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Project.
• Understanding of engineering design processes and project management principles.
