Mechanical Engineer

About the role

This full-time Mechanical Engineer role is an on-site position located in Glenwood, MN. The Mechanical Engineer will design and develop mechanical components and systems for ground support equipment or conveyor products, ensuring reliability, safety, and manufacturability.

Responsibilities

• Create and update CAD models and drawings
• Perform engineering calculations
• Support prototyping and testing activities
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in manufacturing, quality, and operations
• Contribute to project planning, timelines, and documentation
• Participate in continuous improvement
• Troubleshoot existing designs
• Support custom engineering requests to meet specific customer requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related field
• Five years of experience in mechanical design and engineering
• Strong Mechanical Engineering skills, including knowledge of mechanics, materials, and manufacturing processes
• Machine Design skills focused on designing structural frames, mechanical assemblies, and moving mechanisms
• Computer-Aided Design (CAD) skills for 3D modeling, drafting, and revision control of mechanical components and systems
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, industry standards, and safety requirements, with strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate on-site with engineering, production, and safety teams
• Familiarity with relevant design codes, FEA or other analysis tools, and basic understanding of quality and continuous improvement practices is an advantage
