Mechanical Engineer

About the Role

Dewberry has an established national MEPS presence, earning the #35 spot on the MEP Giants list. As Dewberry expands our service offering in Orlando, you will develop the next generation of highly skilled engineers working on challenging projects. This position is based in Dewberry’s Orlando, Florida office, which currently houses over 150 personnel providing transportation, water, land development, and architectural services.

From high-performance buildings and healthcare facilities to water and wastewater treatment systems, energy sustainability projects, and resilient microgrids, you’ll help deliver the innovative solutions that have made Dewberry a trusted partner for universities, healthcare systems, utilities, government agencies, and industrial clients nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical HVAC engineering design utilizing building information modeling (BIM) Revit software and AutoCAD software.
• Use of HVAC load calculations and energy modeling through Trane Trace software.
• Drawing production, specification writing, and discipline coordination between various trades.
• Shop drawing and submittal reviews, construction site reviews, and code reviews for MEP systems.
• Assist with other building systems and the construction process in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and construction services.
• Design and specification of controls systems, system layouts, load calculations, and equipment sizing and selection.
• Review of MEP systems designed by others, interface with code officials and contractors, and collaboration with architects and clients.
• Opportunities to participate in projects in other Dewberry offices nationwide.

Requirements

• BSME or Architectural Engineering degree with a Mechanical focus.
• 5+ years of experience in Mechanical HVAC design.
• Experience designing mechanical systems and producing design documents for various project types in Revit MEP and AutoCAD.
• EIT preferred; PE is a plus.
• Must be a self-starter with initiative, drive, and determination.
