About the role
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with experience designing components and assemblies for automation equipment, particularly involving plastics, injection molding, sheet metal, and machined components. Experience in robotics and automation environments is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical design background and be comfortable working in a collaborative engineering environment to develop innovative automation solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design sheet metal, plastic, and machined parts and assemblies for automation equipment.
- Analyze and test designs to ensure they meet performance, quality, manufacturability, and cost objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to develop new automation systems and technologies.
- Work closely with engineers, technicians, and external partners to create mechanical prototypes that integrate with electrical and software systems.
- Prepare and maintain engineering documentation for manufacturing, inspection, and internal use.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering.
- 7+ years of related mechanical design experience.
- Experience with solid modeling and engineering analysis tools; SolidWorks preferred.
- Experience with injection molding, plastics, and mechanical product design.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Preferred Experience
- Robotics and automation systems experience.
- Background in highly regulated or advanced manufacturing industries.
- Experience with statistical analysis and process improvement tools such as Minitab.
- Experience designing products from concept through production and manufacturing release.
