About the role
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will have a key role in supporting the design, analysis, component specification, integration and commissioning of facilities required for 21st century energetic material and Solid Rocket Motor manufacturing. Specifically, you will join a multi-disciplinary team responsible for all aspects of requirement verifications, upgrade and anomaly resolution, design, analysis, test, and deployment of hardware and control sub-systems related to a disruptive new method for nitrocellulose production.
Responsibilities
- Identify blockers and guide processes to address anomalies and performance shortfalls
- Verify requirements are satisfied
- Deliver on the agreed upon master schedule while adhering to environmental and safety best practices
Requirements
- Demonstrated success in fluid mechanics analysis, mechanical design, thermal/stress analysis, and test
- Experience scoping pumps, mixers, heat exchangers, ovens, precision flow meters, etc.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with Data/Automation/Controls engineers
- 5+ years' experience with Solidworks CAD and PDM or equivalent
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams of ~5 engineers
- Leadership experience may be considered valuable for one open position
Qualifications
- Analysis skills from notebook level to advanced simulation capturing stress, fluid flow, thermal and/or electrical power
- Electro/mechanical hands-on assembly and trouble-shooting aptitude
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
- Must be a US Person as defined by § 120.62 of the ITAR
