About the role

This position will be located at NASA’s White Sands Test Facility in the Laboratories Department.

Responsibilities

• Conducting of hazardous liquids, gasses or cryogenic testing involving a variety of test methods, temperatures, pressures, and test configurations.
• Preparation of detailed work instruction documents, including direction and oversight for mechanical technicians in a union environment.
• Management of pressure systems to ASME and NASA site specific requirements.
• Including designing and maintaining pressure systems to include flow, pressure, compatibility, and stress calculations to allow for safe personnel operation.
• Preparation and presentation of informal and formal briefings to the customer and internal management.

Qualifications

• Education level Engineering or Science related Bachelors degree at a minimum. Masters degree is a plus.
• Experience (0-5) Years of relevant experience in Mechanical Engineering field, or equivalent.
• Hazardous Testing systems experience
• Hypergolic propellant experience
• Cryogenic media experience
• Ordinance Handler experience
• Hazard assessment skills
• Basic computational tools (Excel, MathCad, AutoCAD, etc.)
