Responsibilities

  • Cook up mechanical aspects of commercial or institutional projects
  • Handle routine mechanical engineering tasks using standard techniques and procedures
  • Write and polish mechanical specifications, and pick mechanical systems and devices
  • Use engineering software to calculate HVAC loads, conduct energy analyses, and choose mechanical equipment
  • Create construction documents for HVAC and plumbing designs, including drawings, specifications, and reports
  • Operate independently on small projects, or team up with more senior engineers on bigger ones
  • Manage work of Mechanical CAD Technicians, and coordinate design of assigned projects with architectural staff and other engineering disciplines
  • Assume responsibility for construction contract administration, including field inspections and conflict resolution
  • Do other duties as needed

Requirements

  • Commercial/Institutional experience in healthcare is a plus
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • EIT certificate
  • Four years of experience with HVAC or plumbing

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering

Skills

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience in healthcare and hospital design
  • Comprehension of OSHPD/HCAI requirements
  • Experience in Sciences, Laboratory, and Cleanroom
  • Proficiency in Trace 3D and IESVE

    Pay

    The expected compensation range for this position is $71,000 - $101,000 and depends upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location.
