About the role
Mechanical Designer II will prepare complex drawings on a variety of projects involving mechanical components for natural gas, hydrocarbon and industrial projects. This position is an office based role that is located in Derwent, Ohio.
Responsibilities
- Creating detailed 3D models and producing two-dimensional construction drawings including plans, sections, elevations, details, bills of material and isometrics from the models under the direction of an engineer
- Assists the engineering discipline, leads and directs drafters as needed to keep projects on task and on schedule
- Coordinate with other managers, engineers and designers in completing project assignments
- Independently design small and large projects with ability to adapt to changes in scope and design of facility
- Train new or inexperienced employees
- Communication between all disciplines with cross discipline knowledge to recognize issues within the design
- Explaining and presenting design concept to stakeholders
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree or Certificate in CAD, Drafting or Design from an accredited vocational school, college or university
- 5+ years of experience using AutoCAD and CADWorx software for Oil and Gas Mechanical design
- Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations for the Oil and Gas industry
- Work safely on active construction sites
- 25-50% travel required
- Occasionally required to lift and carry 50 pounds or less
- Must be physically able to stand for long periods of time and/or walk long distances on varied surfaces
- Must be physically able to work outdoors under all weather conditions and terrain
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time in front of a computer
Preferred skills
- Familiarity with Leica laser scan equipment and software
- Ground Penetrating Radar experience using GSSI equipment
- Line locating experience using RadioDetection equipment
- Autodesk Civil 3D experience
- Leica CloudWorx experience
- Current FAA Part 107 certification
- Associates degree or higher in Drafting & Design, Engineering Technology or related field
