Mechanical Designer
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Designer to join our dynamic team based in Sacramento, CA. This position is ideal for individuals with 2-5 years of experience in mechanical design who thrive in a collaborative environment.
About the role
In this role, you will apply your design expertise to exciting and challenging projects while working under the guidance of top engineers in the Architectural, Engineering, and Construction industry. This is a Contract to Hire position.
Responsibilities
- Develop and prepare mechanical designs for various projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and building codes.
- Create and finalize construction documents and mechanical drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring deadlines are met and quality standards are upheld.
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to develop innovative solutions for mechanical systems.
- Ensure code compliance and apply knowledge of commercial, educational, and municipal construction practices.
- Work independently and collaboratively to achieve project goals and contribute to team success.
Requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Revit.
- 2-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, particularly in HVAC, plumbing design, controls, and hydronics.
- Ability to produce a complete set of biddable construction documents.
- Knowledgeable in commercial, educational, and municipal construction.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
Qualifications
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred but not required.
- EIT, PE License, or demonstrated progress toward these goals.
- LEED AP or other relevant certifications.
- Experience with complex mechanical systems, spec writing, and Dynamo.
Work Environment
Our work environment offers a flexible hybrid schedule with a mix of in-office and remote work. Initially, you will be expected to spend approximately 2-3 days per week onsite, transitioning to around 1 day per week or every other week based on performance and autonomy. The office is located in a two-story building in a business center in Sacramento, providing ample space for collaboration and learning.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $28.87 - $40.87 per hour.
