Mechanical Design Intern

Essential Functions

  • Research building codes and standards for each project where applicable.
  • Afford assistance in performing HVAC load calculations utilizing Trane Trace 3D plus or Carrier HAP software.
  • Afford assistance in sizing ductwork and piping systems as applicable to each project.
  • Afford assistance in preparation of mechanical construction drawings utilizing AutoCAD/Revit.
  • Afford assistance in selection and scheduling of mechanical equipment applicable to each project.
  • Review design documents with mentor or engineer prior to completion.
  • Communicate with internal team members and external project team members as necessary to complete design.
  • Attend at least one project site visit throughout the duration of the internship. Attend additional site visits as applicable for assigned projects is encouraged when necessary.

Education And Experience

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s in Architectural Engineering.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiar with AutoCAD/Revit.
  • Ability to communicate and work with others as part of a project team.
  • Works well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain a positive attitude.
  • Show a willingness to learn and ask questions.
