Mechanical Design Engineer (SolidWorks / GD&T)

About the role

This position is for a Mechanical Design Engineer who will be responsible for concept and detail design reviews, providing detailed reviews of drawings, and ensuring that all components meet manufacturing standards. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of SolidWorks modeling, GD&T, and the ability to identify and address issues in the design process.

Responsibilities

• Participate in concept and detail design reviews
• Provide detailed reviews of drawings
• Review and check fits of assemblies
• Generate method instructions for critical parts
• Follow up on issues identified during reviews
• Establish sequences of operations for assembly
• Conduct first article builds if parts are available
• Develop internal testing for critical requirements such as leak tests and motion tests

Requirements

• Deep knowledge of SolidWorks modeling
• Ability to actively participate in design reviews
• Proven ability to provide detailed reviews of drawings
• Expertise in GD&T
• Experience in manufacturing process review
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
