Mechanical Design Engineer (New Graduate)

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated Mechanical Design Engineer (New Graduate) to join our engineering team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to participate in the design, development, testing, and validation of next-generation interconnect products. You will work alongside experienced engineers throughout the product development lifecycle, gaining hands-on experience in mechanical design, prototyping, engineering validation, and manufacturing support while contributing to products used by leading global technology companies.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the mechanical design and development of connector and interconnect products
• Create and maintain 2D engineering drawings and 3D CAD models
• Support prototype builds, engineering validation, and product testing activities
• Participate in design reviews and implement design improvements based on engineering feedback
• Assist in material selection, tolerance evaluation, and product optimization
• Prepare engineering documentation, product specifications, technical reports, and design records
• Support root cause analysis and troubleshooting during product development and manufacturing
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, and Product Management
• Learn connector product development processes and contribute innovative ideas to improve product performance, manufacturability, and reliability
• Support technical discussions with global engineering teams and customers when required

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
• Recent graduates are encouraged to apply
• Internship, research, or project experience in mechanical design or product development is preferred
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and willingness to learn
• Self-motivated with excellent teamwork and communication skills

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, NX, or CATIA
• Basic understanding of mechanical design principles, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and engineering drawings
• Knowledge of engineering materials including plastics, metals, and common manufacturing processes
• Exposure to FEA, structural simulation, mold flow analysis, or other engineering simulation tools is a plus
• Hands-on experience through engineering projects, internships, Formula SAE, robotics competitions, laboratory research, or product development projects is highly preferred
• Basic understanding of product validation and engineering testing methodologies
• Strong documentation and technical writing skills
• Fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese (written and spoken)
• For candidates graduating from universities in Mainland China, English proficiency equivalent to TOEFL or IELTS standards is expected to support effective communication in a global engineering environment
