About the role
This position provides essential administrative processes and technical knowledge, promoting Fluor’s competitiveness by delivering quality services. As an Area Lead or Lead on assigned projects, you will perform moderately complex engineering assignments, evaluate and select standard engineering techniques, and apply Cost Competitive Execution techniques to develop cost-effective solutions. You will also develop and review specifications, participate in procurement and subcontracting activities, perform and check calculations, specify equipment, and solve complex engineering problems. Additionally, you will review vendor documentation for compliance, analyze problems, and make independent recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Apply Cost Competitive Execution techniques to develop cost-effective project solutions.
- Develop and review specifications, including design criteria.
- Participate in equipment and material procurement, permitting, and subcontracting.
- Perform and check calculations; specify equipment; solve moderately complex engineering problems.
- Review vendor equipment documentation for compliance with project requirements and seek discrepancy resolution.
- Analyze and recommend solutions to problems of varying complexity.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Accredited four-year degree or global equivalent in an engineering field of study and eight years of work-related experience.
- Recognized professional certification or registration in the applicable field, if required.
- Ability to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
- Job-related technical knowledge necessary to complete the role.
- Ability to learn and apply local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
- Attention to detail and time-effective work habits.
- Professional registration and membership in a technical society (preferred).
- Advanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards, commercial availability, and cost of materials.
- Experience with effort-hour estimating and staff forecasting.
- Practical field experience.
- Intermediate computer and software skills (word processing, email, spreadsheets, electronic presentations).
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Plumbing design experience (preferred).
- Process experience (preferred).

Pay
Salary range: $103,500 – $191,500. The market rate for this role is typically at the midpoint of the salary range, with final salary determined by candidate qualifications, relevant experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions.
Background checks, including education, professional registration, employment, references, passport verification, and Global Watchlist screening, are conducted as part of the conditional offer process. Candidates must be authorized to work in the country where the position is located.
