Mechanical Design Engineer Xylem is a global water technology company committed to solving the world’s most critical water challenges. With 23,000 employees across more than 150 countries, we deliver innovative solutions that help utilities and communities manage water and resources more efficiently. We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Gas Metering and Communication Systems (AMI) Product Development Team. This role will support New Product Development and Sustaining Engineering. In this role, you will contribute to new product development from concept through production launch while also supporting current products to develop solutions to resolve production and field challenges. This is a great opportunity for an engineer who enjoys hands-on development, cross-functional collaboration, and solving real-world product challenges.
Responsibilities
- Design mechanical components, assemblies, interfaces, and environmental packaging for rugged outdoor electromechanical products.
- Support product development from concept through launch, ensuring designs meet performance, quality, cost, and schedule goals.
- Create and maintain drawings, specifications, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation.
