Mechanical Design Engineer
About the role
This is a Senior-level role responsible for leading complex design projects, mentoring junior designers, and driving design improvements.
Responsibilities
- Independently produces and reviews advanced CAD models, drawings, and assemblies while ensuring designs meet functionality, manufacturability, and cost objectives.
- Produces and reviews detailed drawings (SolidWorks Preferred).
- Leads projects and mentors team members.
- Trains and develops junior designers.
- Drives design improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical design, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5 – 8+ years of relevant CAD/design experience with complex projects
Skills and Competencies
- Advanced proficiency in CAD software, 3D Modeling, assemblies, detailed drawings (SolidWorks Preferred)
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing processes preferred
- Strong knowledge of engineering standards and manufacturing methods
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve design challenges
- Attention to detail
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Regularly required to stand, use hands, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Exposure to moderate noise and potentially hazardous equipment, with required use of protective gear.
