Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

Janicki Industries is seeking Mechanical Engineers at multiple experience levels to design and deliver advanced machines and automated manufacturing systems. This role is ideal for hands-on engineers who want to see their designs realized — from concept to implementation.

Responsibilities

• Concept, design, and develop complex mechanical systems
• Use 3D CAD to accurately model mechanical parts and assemblies
• Produce drawings, specifications, and other documentation
• Perform analysis and calculations to properly size systems
• Lead Projects or assist in project management (depending on level), including cost and schedule estimates, procurement, outsource manufacturing, and vendor coordination
• Aid in the assembly, installation, and commissioning of machines
• Support existing machines using hands-on troubleshooting in a production environment, and by implementing improvement projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering/engineering technology, or a similar field
• 2+ years of professional experience engineering large systems
• Experience with NX, CATIA, or equivalent CAD software
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Able to manage priorities and execute tasks in a fast-paced, project-driven environment
• Able to work well in an integrated, collaborative, team environment including daily interactions with technicians, millwrights, machinists, engineers, and managers
• Must be self-motivated and self-directed with attention to detail

Special Considerations

• Due to ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3)
• The position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required)
• Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed
