About the role

This role contributes throughout the product lifecycle, from concept development through production release, with responsibilities spanning mechanical design, CAD ownership, prototype support, engineering analysis, and documentation management. The ideal candidate enjoys collaborating across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations teams to develop practical, manufacturable product solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in product development activities from concept through production release.
  • Perform engineering calculations, analysis, and design evaluations.
  • Support design reviews and drawing review processes.
  • Collaborate closely with manufacturing, tooling, and operations teams.
  • Manage engineering revisions and product release documentation.
  • Utilize product data management (PDM) systems to support engineering documentation and release processes.
  • Support prototype development, evaluation, and testing activities.
  • Create production-ready drawings, models, and supporting technical documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and operations personnel.
  • Support project execution within established timelines and development objectives.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives related to design processes and product development workflows.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent mechanical design engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in mechanical design engineering and product development.
  • Advanced proficiency with SolidWorks.
  • Experience supporting product development activities from concept through release.
  • Experience performing engineering calculations and design analysis.
  • Familiarity with PDM systems and engineering documentation processes.
  • Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate across cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within plastics manufacturing or related manufacturing environments.
  • Product-focused engineering experience supporting commercial or industrial products.
  • Experience contributing to design standards and engineering best practices.
  • Ability to balance concept development, engineering analysis, and project execution responsibilities.
  • Familiarity with design-for-manufacturability principles.
  • Experience supporting prototype development and product validation activities.
  • Experience working within regulated or quality-driven manufacturing environments.

Work Environment

This position operates within a collaborative engineering and product development environment that includes regular interaction with manufacturing, quality, and operations teams. Responsibilities include a combination of product development, CAD design, engineering analysis, documentation management, and project execution activities. The role provides exposure to product development initiatives, cross-functional collaboration, and engineering leadership while supporting the successful development and release of new products.

Pay

  • $41.00 - $44.00/hr
