About the role
The Mechanical Commissioning Technician supports the startup, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems in mission-critical facilities. This role works closely with project teams to ensure systems such as HVAC, controls, and associated infrastructure are properly installed, tested, and fully operational prior to turnover.
Responsibilities
- Participate in all mechanical Cx activities across data center construction projects.
- Oversee commissioning processes for mechanical systems including: HVAC systems (CRAH/CRAC units), chilled water systems, cooling towers, pumps and piping systems, mechanical plant infrastructure, fire, life, and safety systems.
- Create daily and weekly Cx reports that support client turnover and acceptance.
- Conduct site inspections to verify installation aligns with drawings, specifications, and mission-critical tolerances.
- Utilize construction / commissioning software such as ACC, Procore, CxAlloy, etc.
- Review shop drawings and mechanical submittals for conformance.
- Participate in project meetings and ensure strict adherence to OSHA and site-specific safety standards.
- Promote a proactive safety culture and refuse unsafe work.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Requirements
- Two or more years of experience with MEP systems, including building management systems (BMS), cooling infrastructure, critical plumbing, electrical power monitoring systems (EPMS), electrical distribution, UPS systems, and support utilities.
- Experience in mission critical or large scale commercial projects.
- Background in HVAC, Controls, Operations, or Mechanical Field Services.
- Any industry trade certifications or licenses are a plus.
- Experience with construction/commissioning software such as ACC, Procore, CxAlloy, etc.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Experience in mission critical or large scale commercial projects.

Schedule
This position works between the hours of 6 am and 6 pm, Monday through Friday. Overtime may be required.
