About the role
Collins Aerospace is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Specialty Seating Systems team. Our team designs, develops, and manufactures aerospace specialty seating products, including cockpit and cabin crew seats, and 30g crashworthy helicopter seats for various aircraft manufacturers.
Responsibilities
- Assemble products by reading blueprints and work instructions, including the use of measuring devices (scales, calipers etc.)
- Perform sheet metal riveting functions using hand tools such as a rivet gun, shaver, rivet squeeze, hand clamps, bucking bars, drill press, pneumatic drill and specialized features to build sub-assemblies
- Contact material handler or lead if shortages exist or incorrect parts are in bins
- Perform necessary tasks to ensure on-time delivery of the product
- Cross train and work in all areas of assembly operation
- Adhere to all UTAS rules and codes of conduct
- Ensure quality product utilizing UTAS quality procedures
- Look for ways to eliminate safety hazards and improve the overall safety of the workplace
- Provide continuous improvement ideas in order to support lean and ACE initiatives
- May perform other job duties as required and available for overtime as necessary
Qualifications
- Typically requires a HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
- Must be able to operate hand tools, hand cutters, measuring equipment and light equipment
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to read blueprints with some supervision
- 2+ years relevant assembly experience preferred
- Experience installing aircraft fasteners, solid rivets, double action bolts, NAS, MS & AN hardware preferred, not required
- Thorough knowledge of ACES Assembly (Final or Structure) preferred, not required

Pay
The hourly rate range for this role is $17.78/hr USD - $33.35 /hr USD. The hourly rate range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
Schedule
The schedule for this role is 1st shift Monday-Friday-6:00am – 2:30pm with overtime on an as needed basis.
