Responsibilities
- Reads and comprehends instructions and follow established procedures.
- Collections all material and equipment required to begin the process.
- Takes precision measurements to ensure perfect fit of components.
- Selects or modifies components according to measurements and specifications.
- Aligns material and puts together parts to build more complex units.
- Checks output to ensure highest quality.
- Maintains equipment in good condition.
- Keeps records of production quantities and time.
- Reports on issues, deviations, malfunctions or defective parts.
- Observes all safety rules and regulations as they pertain to own job, work area and overall environment.
- Follows instructions, responds to management direction.
- Asks for and offers help when needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned/needed.
Qualifications
- Maintains equipment in good condition.
- Keeps records of production quantities and time.
- Maintains high school diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in mechanical assembly.
- Must be mechanically inclined – good intuition, strong dexterity, excellent hand-eye coordination and experience with hand tools and basic power tools.
- Ability to read blueprints and drawings and follow directions required.
- Familiarity with use of measuring instruments highly preferred.
- Must be highly organized and attentive to detail, with ability to work under time constraints.
- Good understanding of quality principles and math.
- Strong verbal communication skills needed.
- Professional and accountable.
- Able to respond to others and ask questions appropriately.
- Able to read and interpret information.
- Able to lift - up to 100 Lbs.
Physical Demands
- Stand; walk; bend; use hands to handle, feel, reach; use arms to lift and reach.
- Frequent lifting up to 100 lbs.
- Close, distance and color vision, along with depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
