Mechanical Apprentice

About The Role

Amrize is seeking to hire a full-time Mechanic Apprentice to join our team at the Lewisville, TX location.

Responsibilities

• Maintains, inspects, repairs, moves, and/or installs plant machinery and equipment in accordance with instructions, equipment manuals, etc.
• Completes work orders in a timely manner by installing, repairing and fabricating materials out of metal.
• Copies routine inspections of plant and mobile equipment and report findings to Area Manager.
• Aids personnel as may be required for the purposes of supporting them in the completion of their activities.
• Maintains shop, equipment, tools, vehicles, etc. for the purpose of ensuring the availability and functioning of required items and ensuring safety.
• Diagnoses and troubleshoots equipment failures. Assures compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
• Inspection of condition and operation of plant equipment and perform necessary repairs and adjustments.
• Disassembles and repairs production equipment by replacing worn or broken parts, including bearings, rollers, motors, controls, etc.
• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas.
• Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Specialized training in trade school, technical school, apprenticeships, or manufacturers’ training program.
• Have basic computer proficiency and good verbal and written communication skills.
• Can work in a team atmosphere and learn new tasks.
• Must be able to work unsupervised.
• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas.

Additional Requirements

• Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
• Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
