About the role
Quixote Studios is seeking a full-time Mechanic to join our transportation team. This role involves performing mechanical repairs, oil changes, DOT inspections, and assisting with day-to-day shift operations. The position requires the ability to perform light and heavy manual labor and work special hours as needed.
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical repairs on light, medium, and heavy equipment such as trucks, trailers, and lot equipment in a timely manner.
- Maintain and verify vehicle functional condition by conducting inspections, repairing engine failures, performing oil changes, repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions, replacing parts and components, and repairing body damage.
- Diagnose and repair generators, thermostats, water heaters, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Disassemble machinery or equipment to remove parts and make repairs.
- Inspect equipment, analyze mechanical/operational errors, and report all findings to the Fleet Service Manager.
- Maintain all vehicles, equipment, generators, lot, and building needs.
- Perform all interior/exterior repairs, generator maintenance and service, and other minor repairs in a timely manner.
- Follow and adhere to safety rules, regulations, and proper use of safety equipment relevant to each job skill and qualification.
- Meet with supervisor to review daily assignments, business levels, pending projects, and other pertinent job performance information.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- 2+ years of Automotive Technician experience.
- Must provide and maintain your own tools necessary to perform the essential functions of the role.
- Experience, knowledge, and skills in the methods, materials, and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of various types of equipment and power-driven tools.
- Working knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade.
- Proficient math skills in unit measurement, multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction.
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
- Ability to analyze and repair mechanical failures.
- High sense of urgency and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively and establish good working relationships with internal employees and external clients.
- Attentive to details—accurate and thorough.
- Ability to work independently, safely, and efficiently, and be a team player.

- Heavy work: requires ability to lift, twist, and carry up to 50 pounds and manipulate (pushing, pulling) up to 160 pounds of product.

Working Conditions
