About the role
Join a dynamic team as a Shop Mechanic II, responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance and repairs on trailers and refrigeration units.
Responsibilities
- Diagnosing, repairing, and rebuilding components such as clutches, water pumps, tires, suspensions, differentials, drive lines, transmissions, brake systems, and diesel engines.
- Performing wheel and axle alignments, troubleshooting cooling systems, and conducting diagnostic tests.
- Welding, cutting, and reading technical manuals and service bulletins.
- Maintaining shop tools, completing paperwork, and ensuring safety compliance.
- Working independently or in teams, with flexibility for on-call and road calls using a company vehicle.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED; trade school in heavy-duty diesel and refrigeration preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in diesel repairs, refrigeration, or fleet maintenance.
- Basic hand tools and relevant certifications such as ASE in Medium/Heavy Truck PMI, refrigeration, or electrical diagnostics.
- Valid Class C Driver’s License (Class A preferred).
Qualifications
- Certifications in Maxx Force engines, refrigeration, brake systems, and Freon recovery are desirable.
