Mechanic - Second Shift

About the role

Join a dynamic team as a Shop Mechanic II, responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance and repairs on trailers and refrigeration units.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing, repairing, and rebuilding components such as clutches, water pumps, tires, suspensions, differentials, drive lines, transmissions, brake systems, and diesel engines.
• Performing wheel and axle alignments, troubleshooting cooling systems, and conducting diagnostic tests.
• Welding, cutting, and reading technical manuals and service bulletins.
• Maintaining shop tools, completing paperwork, and ensuring safety compliance.
• Working independently or in teams, with flexibility for on-call and road calls using a company vehicle.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED; trade school in heavy-duty diesel and refrigeration preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in diesel repairs, refrigeration, or fleet maintenance.
• Basic hand tools and relevant certifications such as ASE in Medium/Heavy Truck PMI, refrigeration, or electrical diagnostics.
• Valid Class C Driver’s License (Class A preferred).

Qualifications

• Certifications in Maxx Force engines, refrigeration, brake systems, and Freon recovery are desirable.
