Functions/Responsibilities
- Perform diverse duties to install and maintain production and overall facility equipment
- Complete emergency/unscheduled repairs and preventative maintenance tasks (as scheduled)
- Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Schedule and support outside contractor activity
- Complete administrative tasks (pm tasks and purchase requisitions)
- Aid in maintaining plant security
- Dispose of waste per company policies
- Aid in general plant cleaning and general appearance
- Comply with all OSHA required activities for power industrial equipment
- Operate floor scrubber
- Comply with all company/department safety rules and procedures
- Participate and support continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Working knowledge of mechanics (rotating equipment, values, pumps, and ventilation systems)
- Ability to read blueprints, sketches and equipment manuals
- Knowledge of pipe fitting, electrical wiring and general mechanics
- Must be experienced in all facets of maintenance – mechanical, electrical, building, & vehicle repair
- Industrial electrical power and controls troubleshooting experience
- Piping (water and steam)
- Boilers – understand steam condensate system –tracing, coils, traps, and pumps
- Air compressor system- including filters regulators, dryers, and lubricators
- Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) – air handling, blowers, dust collectors
- Lift truck- electric EE rated, battery and hydraulics
- Strong math aptitude
Education/Experience
- High School diploma/GED, Technical School diploma preferred
- 3-5 years’ experience in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering
