Mechanic - Level 2
About the role
Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on equipment in the safest, most effective way possible to avoid downtime. Our fleet varies by location but primarily includes Aerial Work Platforms, general construction tools, and equipment. Specialty lines locations may have large-scale power-generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil/gas related equipment.

Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment
- Conduct diagnostics and make repairs to minimize downtime
- Work with a diverse fleet, including Aerial Work Platforms, general construction tools, and specialty equipment such as large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil/gas related equipment
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; some trade school or equivalent training desired
- 3 to 5 years of mechanic experience with similar diesel equipment, heavy equipment, or specialty lines equipment (e.g., large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or Oil & Gas equipment) strongly preferred
- Advanced knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting skills
- Advanced knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to be flexible with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- May need to provide mechanic’s tools of the trade
- Bilingual (Spanish or other) may be required based on location needs
Physical Demands
- Bending, squatting, crouching, reaching
- Lifting 50 pounds or more
- Working indoors and outdoors as required by the job

Pay
Base pay range: $24.58 - $33.80 per hour. Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
