Mechanic IV - Pipefitter

About the role

As a member of the Maintenance Department, you will shape the future of RYAM’s operations by installing, modifying, and maintaining piping systems and related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Select appropriate types and sizes of pipe and related materials (supports, hangers, hydraulic cylinders) according to specifications.
• Assemble and install a variety of metal and non-metal pipes, tubes, and fittings, including iron and steel.
• Modify existing piping systems and machinery using diagrams and plant-accepted procedures.
• Complete and maintain specification sheets, PM checklists, and other documentation.
• Install and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment, such as pumps and cylinders, using hand and power tools.
• Cut pipe using saws, pipe cutters, cutting torches, pipe-cutting machines, and other appropriate tools.
• Secure piping with brackets, clamps, and hangers using hand and power tools.
• Perform duties in a manner that promotes safety, quality, and production assurance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of five years of experience as a Pipefitter.
• Ability to work rotating shifts.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to work in various conditions and temperatures, both indoors and outdoors.

Qualifications

In addition to proficient pipefitting knowledge and skills, candidates may be required to demonstrate welding proficiency through TIG and SMAW testing on carbon and stainless steel.
