Mechanic I-III

About the role

This role monitors the function of the processing equipment to ensure proper operation of equipment, allowing continuous line flow and processing to meet customer demands. This position has the responsibility of performing routine preventative maintenance as well as performing unplanned repairs while supporting operations.

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance work, repair, and adjustment of equipment; changes and replaces belts, pulleys, sprockets, bearings, chains, motors, and general maintenance on other specialty equipment specific to processing.
• Performs and documents line checks and preventative maintenance, including lubrication and inspection of equipment to prevent or identify failures.
• Understands and can explain the purpose and operation of all equipment in the processing area and makes decisions on appropriate troubleshooting and repair of equipment as situations warrant.
• Performs structurally sound welds using appropriate equipment as needed.
• Updates CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) with status and details of work order results daily.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Education/ Certifications: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred. Lock-out/Tag-out, Forklift, and Sanitation certification are required. If you are not qualified, you will be trained and must meet certification requirements.
• Experience performing maintenance in a manufacturing environment, specifically food processing highly preferred.
• Effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing. Ability to understand instructions and follow directions in English, both written and oral. (Requirement may vary by location).
• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Qualifications

Pay

Industry-Competitive Pay: Industry-competitive pay is offered for this role. A reasonable hourly estimate for this role is $29.06. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to a candidate's work location, job duties, experience and expertise.
