Job Summary
Performs mechanical work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of stormwater equipment and machinery. Determines the nature of malfunctions and suggests how to repair them or if equipment should be returned to the shop for a major overhaul. Decides when the shafts need to be lubricated, when additional oil for the engine is needed, when plugs and points need work, etc. Work is performed under the supervision of the Mechanic Supervisor or Manager. Work is reviewed while in progress and upon completion for accuracy.
About the Role
This position will help service five (5) Alum Stations & Ten (10) Pump Station throughout the City.
Qualifications
- Mechanic Industrial I: High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate and one (1) year of industrial mechanical experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License. Must own a standard set of mechanic tools (list attached). Must have a home phone or cell phone.
- Mechanic Industrial II: High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate and three (3) years of industrial mechanical experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Driver's License required. Must own a standard set of mechanic tools (list attached) and a cell/home phone.
- Mechanic Industrial III: High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate and four (4) years of industrial mechanical experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Driver's License required. Must own a standard set of mechanic tools (list attached) and a cell/home phone.
