Responsibilities
- Performs all necessary preventative maintenance on heavy equipment according to established guidelines and time frames.
- Keeps accurate and detailed records of failures and repairs in Computerized Maintenance Management System.
- Identifies and orders parts necessary to complete repairs and routine maintenance.
- Performs complex repairs on equipment. Replaces parts and equipment as necessary.
- Assists lower level Mechanics in completing work assignments as necessary.
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses all problems with yellow iron equipment. Completes troubleshooting repairs and/or modifications work on equipment.
- Performs daily inspections of tools and equipment used. Ensures cleanliness of hand tools, equipment and parts.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); minimum five years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Basic knowledge of computer use and Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of CMMS software is a plus. Fleet Management Software is a plus.
