The Mechanic I is responsible for basic repairs, calibration, and maintenance on equipment. This position will lead the team in the equipment diagnosis and repairs, directing and assisting Assemblers to further their knowledge and understanding of troubleshooting and equipment maintenance.

Your Impact

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned:

• Completion of activity-based repairs and service requirements as delineated on sales change orders
• Install various equipment accessories (decals, mud flaps, cameras, lights)
• Follow verbal and written work instructions
• Attention to detail necessary to adhere to quality standards
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
• Must have basic knowledge of DC electricity and hydraulics, including basic print understanding
• Must have basic computer skills and be able to use an iPad or laptop to input findings guided by user friendly programs
• Basic understanding and usage of tools such as Multimeter, pressure tester and analyzer
• Must be able to learn to drive and use a forklift
• Must be able to lift the safe and permissible weight
• Must be able to withstand standing all day and walking long distances
• Must be able to stoop and work at low positions
• Aid in maintaining inventory accuracy through data entry
• Must be able to work overtime and/or 7 days a week
• Regular attendance required
• All other duties and responsibilities that are assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• 1 year of basic experience with hydraulics, electrical, gas and diesel systems
• Strong math skills and basic mechanical aptitude
• Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet business and production demands
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance, in-person and on-site
• High School Diploma or GED

Working Conditions

The following represents general working conditions for this role. Specific conditions may vary depending on business needs and individual circumstances.

This position is based in a manufacturing or production environment and may involve exposure to loud noise, dust, moving machinery, or temperature fluctuations. The role may require standing for extended periods, repetitive motions, lifting/carrying up to 35 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds and up to 30 pounds sustained, bending, kneeling, climbing, or using tools and equipment. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn when required. Visual and auditory acuity are needed for safe equipment operation and effective communication in a busy workspace.
