Responsibilities
- Troubleshoots, repairs and adjusts HVAC systems and air volume control equipment to maintain proper temperature, humidity and air flow conditions.
- Ensures compliance with CFC related regulations and qualifications minimizing losses and maximizing recovery via effective leak detection, maintenance procedures and use of reclaiming, recycling and recovery equipment.
- Utilizes Building Management Systems (BMS) and equipment controls to monitor facility equipment, manufacturing areas and refrigeration equipment for compliance and proper operation. Operates BMS terminals as a troubleshooting tool to make necessary changes in order to properly maintain critical environments and to ensure compliance.
- Maintains all HVAC/R equipment. Including, but not limited to preventive maintenance tasks, corrective maintenance tasks, daily equipment and system checks. All tasks completed are performed observing all safety guidelines as well as cGMP's.
- Repairs, replaces and rebuilds valves, pumps, steam traps, electric motors, bearings, shelves, etc. Able to properly thread piping, as well as fit-up new piping systems (copper, black iron, PVC, etc.).
- Cleans HVAC coils, evaporators and condensers employing chemicals, compressed air or high pressure wash in order to maintain equipment in good operating condition.
- Responds to alarms associated with environmental monitoring systems and makes routine decisions concerning priority of response. Reviews unusual problems and critical situations with the supervisors. Carries radio or phone as directed for expeditious communications.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent with a current Universal Refrigerant Certificate.
- Minimum of 5 years HVAC/R experience required
- Able to read and understand refrigeration/HVAC drawings, electronic, electrical, pneumatic and control schematics.
- Must be able to solder and braze.
- Must have a mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Able to troubleshoot and repair 24, 110, 208 and 460 volt equipment.
- Able to document process issues in a clear concise manner in accordance with cGMP, SOPs and Job Aids.
- Adept in following EPA guidelines relevant to CFCs and HCFCs.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units using fractions and decimals.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Able to move equipment in excess of 100 pounds 10% of the time, lift 45-50 pounds 25-50% of the time.
- Able to climb ladders and work from heights exceeding 10 feet and in awkward positions.
- Able to troubleshoot and repair HVAC/R, pneumatic and electrical systems and components.
- Extreme working conditions: Required to perform tasks outdoors in temperatures below freezing and above 100F. Subject to high noise levels equivalent to approximately 25% of total hours; hearing protection required in some areas. Hazardous conditions such as electrical shock, handling acids and caustics and extreme temperatures.

Pay
Hourly Rate: $32.00 per hour. The compensation for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, work location, prior experience and job-related knowledge, relevant skills and expertise, current business needs, and market factors.
