Mechanic GSE Spec GSO

About the role

The Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Mechanic will be based in Greenville, SC and is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing critical ground support equipment used in F‑16 operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on GSE.
• Conduct hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical system inspections.
• Execute oil changes and fluid checks.
• Document all work through digital tracking systems to ensure traceability and compliance with 6S, QA, and safety standards.
• Uphold shop safety protocols and maintain an organized workspace.
• Provide clear technical communication and customer support.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of hands‑on experience in automotive or ground support equipment maintenance.
• Experience with preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
• High school diploma or technical certification.
• Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb and work in noisy, outdoor shop environments.

Skills

• POD’s testing experience.
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
• Fleet maintenance experience.
• Familiarity with digital maintenance logs.

Schedule

Flexible work arrangements and schedules are offered, including a 4‑day × 10‑hour workweek.

Pay

Pay rate for this position is $24.90 – $41.54 per hour. The salary range is a general guideline and may vary based on experience, education, skills, market location, and business considerations.
