General Description
To provide and coordinate preventative maintenance and repair for the vehicles owned and in use by the Washington County Regional Ambulance Authority-Central EMS to ensure safe, reliable transportation for response to emergency and non-emergency calls by the EMTs and Paramedics.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Order parts for the maintenance of the vehicles. (daily, about 10% of the time)
- Repair medical equipment and stretchers. (monthly, about 5% of the time)
- Fabricate and install components. (irregularly, about 5% of the time)
- Diagnose and repair the ambulance module. (daily, about 20% of the time)
- Cosmetic and body repair. (irregularly, about 10% of the time)
- Mechanical diagnosis and repair. (daily, about 20% of the time)
- Preventative maintenance. (daily, about 50% of the time)
- Aid with vehicle specifications. (irregularly, about 5% of the time)
- Maintain the generator. (monthly, about 10% of the time)
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
- High school, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area; e.g. data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation, etc, plus 4 years related experience and/or training. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Ability to read, analyze, and understand general business/company-related articles and professional journals;
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to prepare and interpret bar graphs.

- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
