Duties & Responsibilities
- Setup, repair, install, maintain machinery equipment including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Maintain measuring and calibrating equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance duties
- Diagnose and report malfunction in machinery and equipment
- Communicate with internal and external customers and work independently or as part of the maintenance team
- Lead in the diagnosis of mechanical/electrical malfunctions and plant shut-down maintenance work
- Build and install new and enhanced equipment through continuous improvements
- Work closely with Engineering, Maintenance Managers, and Master Mechanics on projects
- Enhance knowledge and skills of mechanical and electrical systems through on-the-job training
- Adhere to industry guidelines including Plant Safety, Food Safety, SQF, and all internal/external audits
- Report food safety and quality issues to appropriate personnel
Required Education, Skills & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic computer literacy
- Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English
- Ability to perform basic math operations
- Experience with manufacturing equipment including 3-phase motors, control wiring, 24VDC, 120VAC, 208/220VAC, 480VAC
- Experience with Controls for Conveyor Systems, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Pumps, and Valves
- Knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot production machinery (Fillers, Rinsers, Cappers, Case Packers, Case Formers, Coolers, Pasteurizers)
- Familiarity with Lock-Out Tag-Out, Hot Work, Confined Space, and HECP Training
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
- Use of measuring tools and test equipment
- Independence and ability to work without constant supervision
- Mechanical aptitude
- Knowledge of drill press, chop saw, port-a-band, sawzall, and other maintenance tools
- Knowledge or experience with multi-meters, amp probes, megger ohm meter, panelview
- Knowledge of lock-out tag-out equipment, gear, and HECPS
- Computer and printer proficiency
- Ability to lift, carry, reach, pull, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, bend
