Mechanic (Charles City, VA)

Essential Functions

• Diagnose and repair fleet vehicles and stationary equipment to company standards
• Proactively identify issues and coordinate repairs with the Manager and team
• Supervise and guide a Mechanic's Helper
• Conduct required inspections and complete all maintenance documentation accurately
• Respond to road calls and on-site equipment breakdowns as needed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment
• Follow all safety and environmental regulations; report concerns promptly

Additional Duties

• Pick up equipment or supplies as needed
• Share knowledge by training fellow employees
• Provide coverage for colleagues as needed

Job Specifications

• Work Environment: Indoor shop and outdoor field work
• Exposure to dust, fumes, and chemicals (fuel, grease, oil)
• Moderate to loud noise levels
• Physical Demands: Must be able to handle heavy materials, including lifting up to 100 lbs. and pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs.; frequent reaching, gripping, and pinching; extended periods of standing, kneeling, squatting, climbing, and working on your back
