Summary: Mechanic B-Electrical Shop Electricians conduct general and specialized installation, maintenance, and repair on various types of electrical equipment. Roles and Responsibilities:Must present one of the following: New Jersey Electrical License, Certificate of Completion of Apprenticeship Electrician from the NJ Department of Labor Office of Apprenticeship OR five (5) years of electrical experience in commercial, industrial and/or residential environments.Ability to read and interpret technical documents, wiring diagrams, schematics, construction drawings, etc.Experience with troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems.Must pass New Jersey Transit’s Electrician Aptitude Test.Present a valid driver’s license and High School Diploma or GED.Successfully pass the pre-screening process including drug test, physical, and criminal, employer, and driving background checks. Education, Experience, and Qualifications:Installing low or medium voltage equipment, panels, motors, controls, etc.Installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic systems, PLC’s, Controllers, Computers, Alarms, PA’s, etc.Test equipment such as multi-meters, insulation testing, phasing, etc.Using and understanding code requirements, including NEC, NESC, OSHA, IEEE, NFPA, etc.Prior railroad, transportation, or military experience Physical Requirements:Stoop, bend, crawl, balance, climb, kneelBe exposed to equipment that intensifies the heat factor on an occasional basisWear protective equipment such as hardhat, safety glasses, and safety-toe boots Work Location:Multiple locations and must be willing to work in Morrisville, PAThis is a Unionized position. Rate of pay:The pay rates are tiered and are non-negotiable based on years and types of experience. Tiers start at $29.11 (80% of the full rate). The 100%-tiered rate is $36.39.
