About the role
Industrial Automation Technician-I responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and performing preventative maintenance on facilities automation systems including:
- Dematic Automated Storage and Retrieval Machines
- Chain Driven Live Roller Conveyors
- Drag-Chain Conveyors
- Thru/In-Frame Drag-Chain Transfers
- Vertical Reciprocating Conveyors
- Schaefer Automated Case Pick and Automated Tray Storage Systems
- KUKA Robotics
Responsibilities
- Maintain continuous system operation by adjusting, repairing, replacing, or modifying system components (e.g., gearbox exchanges, alignment of structural parts, root cause failure analysis)
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and components and return to serviceability
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance actions on all subsystems and related components
- Assist other maintenance team members with duties/repairs of equipment consistent with level of experience and training
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of Industrial Power 3 Phase 480V and industry accepted electrical safety practices for testing energized circuits
- General understanding of PLC and VFD controlled machinery
- Efficient in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical components
- Able to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical diagrams including complex automated system drawings
- Proper use of power tools and measuring devices—must provide all basic hand tools required to maintain automated equipment
- Must be able to work at heights up to 110 ft
- Able to access assets in the structure using ladders (ladder weight limit of 300 lbs)
- Basic computer knowledge of Microsoft Windows based operating systems
- Experience welding with Stick, MIG, or TIG a plus
- Knowledge of ABB/SEW drive technology a plus
- Experience with various Machine Shop equipment a plus
Experience/Education
- High School Diploma required
- 2 year degree or trade school certification preferred
- 2 years minimum experience preferred

- Frequent: standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, reaching, gripping of items 20 lbs. and under
- Occasional: carrying and lifting items over 60 lbs
