Mechanic - Auto / Diesel / Forklift Technician

About the Role

Crown Equipment Corporation, a global leader in lift truck manufacturing with over 15 manufacturing facilities and 500 retail locations worldwide, is seeking a Field Service Technician in Appleton, WI. This role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing lift trucks, performing planned maintenance, and maintaining a service van and its inventory.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair Crown and all other makes of lift trucks.
• Perform all assigned planned maintenance on customer lift trucks.
• Maintain a service van and its inventory.
• Process paperwork after completion of each job.

Requirements

• Less than 2 years of related experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to safely operate lift trucks.

Qualifications

• Good mechanical and electrical aptitudes.
• Knowledge of electrical/electronic systems, hydraulics, and internal combustion engines.
• Ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Good written/verbal communication and customer care skills.
• Technical degree, previous lift truck repair, welding experience, and knowledge of various types of testing equipment preferred.
• Familiarity with tools and equipment such as common hand tools, electrical/air tools, torch, arc welder, and testing equipment.
• Industry-related training is preferred.
• Ability to read and understand service manuals, plan, and follow through.
