Mechanic
Job Description
To support the patient care environment by providing emergency, correction and scheduled services on the mechanical equipment and systems of the facility to assure equipment availability to perform its intended function reliably.
Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background.

Responsibilities
Perform troubleshooting and repairs including major overhauls to major and minor equipment to assure reliable equipment to perform its intended function.
Assist in coordination and execution of utility shutdowns of piping systems that are in the Maintenance Group’s area of responsibility.
Participate in the maintenance and repair of other buildings systems and equipment by assisting other technicians such as plumbers, electricians, electronic technicians and others in their activities.
Complete work tickets thoroughly and according to departmental procedure to insure accurate records to equipment history, project documentation, cost data and other maintenance activities.
Interact positively and courteously with staff, patients and visitors while providing maintenance activities to instill confidence in our guests that problems are addressed competently and promptly.
Assure personal safety and the safety of others by safe use of tools and materials.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- HS diploma
- Trade school diploma in related field
- OR 5 years of applicable building/maintenance experience
Specialized Knowledge
Fans, compressors, motors, bearings, valves, pumps, conveyors, or similar machinery/equipment types.
Length of Experience
- 3 years institutional building/maintenance/mechanical experience
