About the role

Now hiring Mechanics in our Burlington, IA plant! Starting wage is $27.78 per hour with 8 hours guaranteed overtime every 2 weeks. Only work half of the year.

Responsibilities

• Aid in the installation, launch, and qualification of our newest can-making machines.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and modify all mechanical systems.
• Use precision measuring tools and work with close tolerances up to .0010.
• Work with management to improve work area, safety, quality, cost, and productivity.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• A desire to operate and maintain Silgan's industrial can lines.

Pay

$27.78 per hour plus shift differential.

Schedule

Train on 1st shift from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. After training, work the night shift from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Work a 2-2-3 schedule: 2 days, 2 rest days, 3 days of work, and every other weekend off. Non-floating schedule: No rotation between days and nights.
