Responsibilities
- Use tools up to ½ inch drive for job tasks.
- Perform services and minor repairs on tractors and trailers with guidance and little supervision.
- Navigate work order software (Mechanics Workstation) using basic computer knowledge.
- Work independently while on call to perform tire repairs and replacements, minor equipment repairs (e.g., air leaks, light malfunctions, battery and cable issues), and trailer repairs.
- Perform preventive maintenance (PM) services and most repairs with guidance and minimal supervision.
- Ask questions and seek information for unfamiliar tasks.
Training & Development
- Train in all aspects of the Mechanic Position.
- Learn proper use of shop tools, service truck tools, and safety procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of tractor/trailer or heavy equipment mechanic experience.
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred (possession of a Class A CDL may result in increased pay within the tier).
- Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to follow instructions.
- Strong customer service skills and consistent on-time performance.
Pay
Hourly pay scale: $26.58 - $28.85/hr.
