About the role

NEXPERA's General Mechanic will regularly perform mechanical maintenance of field and plant equipment and facilities in a leading sulfuric acid and potassium hydroxide regeneration company that optimizes processes, minimizes environmental impact, and drives innovation across the industrial landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Support Plant and Field Operations
  • Execute preventive and predictive maintenance schedules and protocols
  • Troubleshoot equipment performance and restore assets to optimal performance levels
  • Deliver maintenance support for projects
  • Provide oversight of the plant shop and maintenance tools
  • Support Process Safety Management and site personal safety efforts
  • Conduct seasonal prep work including preparing equipment and scheduling materials
  • Assure proper set-up, calibration, operation, and preventative maintenance of equipment, machines, and facilities

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One to three (1-3) years of industrial maintenance work experience
  • Problem solving, conflict resolution, and teamwork skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Beginning level computer skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with minimal supervision
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • TWIC (must be obtained within 30 days of beginning employment)

Work Environment

  • Ability to work for prolonged periods in extremes of hot and cold temperatures and inclement weather conditions
  • Ability to work around hazardous materials such as sulfuric acid and molten sulfur
  • Ability to wear required PPE (including FR clothing, respirators, and fall protection equipment)
  • Frequent stooping, bending, climbing, reaching, and carrying; use of hand tools (shovels, brooms, sledgehammers, picks) and moving heavy objects
  • Ability to work from ladders, scaffolds, and high-lifts, and to enter and work in confined spaces
  • Ability to respond to emergency call-outs as required by site operations
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime hours including weekend work during periods of high plant need
  • Typical schedule: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week
  • Occasional travel to other locations may be required
