Mechanic

About the role

Heavy duty diesel truck and equipment mechanic responsible for safe operation, repair, rebuild, and maintenance of company-owned or leased vehicles and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair operational issues in heavy-duty diesel trucks and related equipment
• Maintain and repair diesel, CNG, gas, and electrically operated vehicles
• Complete reports, work orders, and manage parts procurement
• Plan and schedule repairs, review mechanical write-ups, and coordinate repairs
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean work environment
• Utilize tools and equipment, possess and maintain necessary tools
• Assist in training new employees and stay updated on technology through training
• Perform additional duties as directed by management

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or GED; technical diploma preferred
• Minimum one year of diesel mechanic experience; diagnostic software skills a plus
• Computer literate, capable of learning software systems
• Effective communication, ability to follow instructions, work independently, and maintain records
• Physical ability to perform job tasks, including lifting up to 100 pounds
