Responsibilities
- Perform inspection, diagnosis, repair, and routine maintenance on heavy construction equipment, including mobile crawler cranes, barge-mounted cranes, conveyors, pay loaders, excavators, and other earth-moving equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Diagnose equipment failures and determine appropriate repair or replacement solutions.
- Perform field maintenance and emergency repair activities as required.
- Read, understand, and interpret hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical drawings.
- Operate mechanical boom and cable equipment to troubleshoot issues and verify proper operation after repairs.
- Inspect, test, and evaluate repaired or modified equipment to ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications.
- Examine parts for damage or excessive wear using appropriate diagnostic and testing tools.
- Clean, lubricate, and perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Maintain accurate knowledge of operating manuals, parts manuals, and service documentation.
- Make recommendations for equipment repairs, upgrades, or replacement following failures.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area and comply with all safety rules, regulations, and company policies.
Qualifications
- 4–5 years of experience performing maintenance and repairs on cranes and heavy construction equipment.
- Experience working with mobile crawler cranes and barge-mounted cranes.
- Experience operating earth-moving equipment, including pay loaders and excavators.
- Experience with conveyors and a wide range of construction equipment.
- Experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
- Experience maintaining and repairing CAT, Cummins, and John Deere equipment preferred.
- Ability to use manufacturer diagnostic software.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
