Mechanic

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection, diagnosis, repair, and routine maintenance on heavy construction equipment, including mobile crawler cranes, barge-mounted cranes, conveyors, pay loaders, excavators, and other earth-moving equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Diagnose equipment failures and determine appropriate repair or replacement solutions.
  • Operate mechanical boom and cable equipment to troubleshoot issues and verify proper operation after repairs.
  • Inspect, test, and evaluate repaired or modified equipment to ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Examine parts for damage or excessive wear using appropriate diagnostic and testing tools.
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Maintain accurate knowledge of operating manuals, parts manuals, and service documentation.
  • Make recommendations for equipment repairs, upgrades, or replacement following failures.
  • Clean and maintain a clean and orderly work area and comply with all safety rules, regulations, and company policies.

Requirements

  • Ability to work on-site and travel to field locations as required.
  • Physically capable of performing work in varying weather conditions and temperatures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong initiative and self-direction.
  • Fluent in English (reading, speaking, and writing).
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4–5 years of experience performing maintenance and repairs on cranes and heavy construction equipment.
  • Experience working with mobile crawler cranes and barge-mounted cranes.
  • Experience operating earth-moving equipment, including pay loaders and excavators.
  • Experience with conveyors and a wide range of construction equipment.
  • Experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
  • Experience maintaining and repairing CAT, Cummins, and John Deere equipment preferred.
  • Ability to use manufacturer diagnostic software.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
