Mechanic

About the role

A mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical issues in machinery or mobile equipment. They use diagnostic tools and their expertise to identify problems, then perform repairs or replace parts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Accurately identify problems with machinery or mobile equipment using diagnostic tools and mechanical knowledge
• Perform repairs or replace parts as necessary
• Perform preventive maintenance and develop PM programs to keep machinery and mobile equipment running smoothly
• Generate and close work orders in operating systems
• Refer to and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
• Use a wide range of tools, from simple wrenches and screwdrivers to complex diagnostic equipment and power tools
• Work independently or as part of a team, collaborating with other mechanics, engineers, and technicians
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency
• Be available for on-call duties as required
• Install equipment and machinery as needed
• Ensure regular attendance, timeliness, and scheduling flexibility
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Vocational or technical training certificate or associate’s degree in a related field (a plus)
• At least 1 year of experience in a relevant field
• Ability to communicate and interact effectively with various levels of the organization
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, manual dexterity, and attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and other pertinent operating systems
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Pay

Hourly pay range: $30–35/hr
