Mechanic

Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician will join the Operations team at ContourGlobal, a KKR Company. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the role involves installing, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical equipment across the combined cycle power plant, including turbines, generators, pumps, valves, and auxiliary systems. The position requires strict adherence to safety and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with ContourGlobal’s safe work practices.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues promptly.
• Support work partners and communicate any unsafe conditions.
• Participate in health and safety activities.
• Repair, replace, dismantle, and inspect defective plant equipment.
• Install piping and conduct conduit work.
• Operate and maintain various tools and equipment.
• Operate and maintain combined-cycle power generating facility equipment.
• Maintain equipment by tightening fittings, replacing parts, and performing other maintenance tasks.
• Read and record data from meters and gauges.
• Participate in preventive maintenance programs.
• Manage spare parts inventory and assist in physical inventories.
• Work extended hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum four (4) years of experience as a power plant mechanic, millwright, or in a similar industrial environment.
• Proficiency in maintaining and overhauling mechanical equipment, including turbines, pumps, valves, compressors, and other balance-of-plant systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, with the ability to resolve mechanical issues efficiently.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and mechanical drawings.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and rigging equipment.
• Knowledge of lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and safe work practices.
• Basic welding and fabrication skills are preferred.
• Experience in combined cycle power plants or similar power generation facilities preferred.
• Strong commitment to safety and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, climb stairs and ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Energetic and willing to work in confined or restricted spaces (as applicable).
