Mechanic

Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician will join the Operations team at ContourGlobal, a KKR Company, leading the Independent Power Producer (IPP) in developing, acquiring, and operating electricity generation and storage assets worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with ContourGlobal’s safe work practices.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues related to turbines, pumps, valves, compressors, and other balance-of-plant systems.
• Install, dismantle, and inspect defective plant equipment.
• Operate and maintain combined-cycle power generating facility equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks and participate in preventive maintenance programs.
• Assist in maintaining and controlling spare-parts inventory.
• Participate in health and safety activities, including incident investigations and inspections.

Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum four (4) years of experience as a power plant mechanic, millwright, or in a similar industrial environment.
• Proficiency in maintaining and overhauling mechanical equipment including turbines, pumps, valves, compressors, and other balance-of-plant systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, with the ability to resolve mechanical issues efficiently.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and mechanical drawings (e.g., P&IDs).
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and rigging equipment (winches, hoists, slings).
• Knowledge of lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and safe work practices.
• Basic welding and fabrication skills are preferred.
• Experience in combined cycle power plants or similar power generation facilities preferred.
• Strong commitment to safety and ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, climb stairs and ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds, and work in environments involving hazardous materials.
