The Role

Coats surface of parts, assemblies, and finished products with protective or decorative materials such as paint, varnish, enamel, lacquer, dope, or stain using a spray gun. Selects and mixes coating material; coats areas inaccessible to hand sprayer using brush or roller. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

Responsibilities

• Apply protective or decorative coatings to parts, assemblies, and finished products using spray equipment.
• Select and mix coating materials to meet specifications.
• Apply coatings to hard‑to‑reach areas with brush or roller.
• Monitor and verify coating quality using statistical process control or other quality procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Five (5) years of additional education and/or related experience, or an apprentice graduate/Associate’s Degree in a relevant discipline with three (3) years of related experience.
• Certification may be required.

Nice to Have

• Relevant certification in coating application or surface preparation.
