Mech Serv Mechanic

Job Responsibilities and Tasks

• Disassemble and assemble bearing housings and internal roll components.
• Use air tools and hand tools, hydraulic bearing/gear pullers for inspection.
• Perform visual inspections of roll components and parts to ensure quality.
• Document repair requirements using company manuals and instructions.
• Handle rolls and components safely using overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Use basic hydraulics, pneumatics, fabrication, cutting with a torch, basic layout, blueprint reading, and precision measurement.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills in bearings, chains, sprockets, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Perform basic computer/data entry tasks.
• Perform repetitive and physically demanding tasks for extended periods (lifting, walking, climbing, pushing, twisting, and stooping).
• Wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (safety glasses, ear plugs, steel toe boots, etc.).
• Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations.
• Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Troubleshoot, install, align, dismantle, repair, and maintain industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.
• Help meet or exceed quality goals through a quality maintenance program.

Qualification Requirements

• Education: High school Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 2 years of relevant manufacturing-related mechanical or millwright experience, or 2 years technical training preferred.
• Knowledge: Solid mechanical aptitude skills, knowledge of bearings, chains, sprockets, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Additional: Clear drug screen and background check.
